We are excited to partner again with Verizon to offer our Red & Black Robotics Camp. This program is specifically designed for 5th and 6th graders to build and program their very own Parallax Boe-Bot Robot to perform a variety of tasks.
The camp will be held over an eight-week period, meeting on Wednesday nights from January 11 through March 1, 2017 from 5:30 pm to 7:30pm. The final day will be on Saturday, March 4th from 10:00 am to noon. The weekly, two-hour class is staffed by Verizon and will be at Coppell Middle School West. All students will need to bring a windows based laptop for programming the robots during class (the programming software is not fully compatible with Macs) .
At the end of the course, students will keep their robot, as well as their course material and instructional manual (valued at $160). On Saturday March 4th, the last day of class, we will hold a Parade of Robots -- parents are encouraged to attend and watch.
The cost of the camp is $375 plus a non-refundable $20 registration fee. Refunds are available through December 1st (minus the registration fee).
Please note, the curriculum is the same as the previous camp, not a continuation of last year's camp.
