Coppell Middle School West’s Catherine Schaefer received $4,000 for “3D Printed Functional Inventions.”  This grant funds a 3D printer for use in the school’s Visual Arts program.  The use of 3D Printing is being incorporated into the instruction of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics, helping student to make connections between these crucial content areas. 3D Printing encourages the importance of active engagement in critical thinking, envisioning concepts and possible outcomes, and growth of creativity to produce tangible functional products.
