Mission and Goals

The Foundation will achieve its mission of providing education enrichment opportunities, for students and faculty, beyond what is provided for within the budget of Coppell ISD, by directing its resources toward the following goals:

  • Encourage all students to achieve their highest potential in learning

  • Support the creative energy and innovative efforts of the District's talented teachers

  • Recognize and reward our teachers for exemplary educational achievement

  • Inspire parents and our community as a whole to participate with the school district in enriching our children's educational experience

  • Help our educators and administrative staff to meet their immediate financial needs in the classroom

  • Build community awareness of the accomplishments of the Coppell ISD, its incredible teachers, staff and students.

About the Foundation

Through innovative teaching grants, educators are given an opportunity to use the resources of the Foundation to supplement their creative teaching methods in the classroom. The energy and creativity inherent in these programs spark the imagination of students, and build upon an already positive learning environment. Teachers are challenged to achieve new levels of creativity and students are, likewise, challenged to achieve greater understanding through learning. Matching grants are also awarded to school principals so that they may directly address the unique needs of their schools.

In addition to meeting certain immediate needs of our schools through creative and meaningful grant programs, the Coppell ISD Education Foundation works hard to lay the cornerstone for our children’s future. Through the creation and continual funding of a permanent endowment fund, the Foundation seeks to provide educational enrichment opportunities for the children of tomorrow.

Our entire community shares in the benefits that only the highest standards of educational excellence and a strong school district provide. The Coppell ISD benefits greatly from the combined efforts of men and women who love their children and their community and desire to see each realize its greatest
potential.

Who Funds?

The Coppell ISD Education Foundation is governed by an independent Board of Directors comprised of volunteers representing the community and businesses served by the Coppell ISD. The Board of Directors presides over all operations of the Foundation, including the “Red & Black Attack” Campaign (soliciting individual contributions), the Legacy Partners
Campaign (soliciting multi-year commitments from our business community) and annual contributions to the Permanent
Endowment Fund (the “Bricks & Benches” and private bequest programs).

These important means of funding the Foundation’s efforts allow for the award of innovative teaching grants and matching grants (delivered by means of the “Prize Patrol”). The Foundation also conducts the Annual Student/Teacher Academic Recognition Banquet which honors those students and teachers who have exhibited the highest standards of educational excellence in the Coppell ISD. Finally, the Foundation facilitates the growth and development of the Coppell High School Alumni Association. The continuing interest and financial support of our District Alumni will lend support to the Foundation’s goals in the years to come.

How Can I Help?

The Foundation is dedicated to delivering as much of the funds raised through its various efforts directly to the classroom for the benefit of our students and educators. Please remember that all contributions to the CISD Education Foundation are tax-deductible. There are many different ways to support our District’s students and teachers, including:

  • Personal gifts…cash or check
  • Gifts-in-kind or cash equivalent gifts…securities, real estate or other properties such as collections, paintings,
jewelry and automobiles. Gifts of this nature require that you consult a tax professional to determine the full
value of the deduction allowed by law.
  • Estate Planned Giving…by naming the Foundation as a beneficiary in wills, trusts, life insurance, and other
options recommended by an estate planner. For further information, contact the Foundation office.
  • Matched giving: Contributions may be doubled or tripled when matched by an employer. Please check with your
employer to see if your contribution to the Foundation is eligible for this type of matching fund giving

Remember, gifts may be given in memory or honor of family or friends. You may donate your time and talents to assist with fundraising events or other projects of the Foundation. Rest assured that, whatever means of giving to the Foundation you might choose, each gift is greatly appreciated and lends valuable support to our schools, our students and our community.
